10th Sept, 2005. Deep in the heart of the Hyatt Hotel in downtown New Orleans
the O.E.M. (Office of Emergency Management) takes shape. Contractors for
Unisys start to rebuild the communications, command and control computer
networks and infrastructure that is vital to the rebuilding of New Orleans following
the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. Gerald Bartlett installs infra red free space
optic radio links atop the lower roof of the devastated Hyatt hotel as Unisys
begins the task of reconnecting the city to its Government.
