30th Jan, 2006. New Orleans, Louisiana. Site of the 17th street canal breach in Lakeview, looking away from the levee toward the houses directly behind the breach. Remains of giant bags of ballast dropped by helicopters at the time of the hurricane to try and slow the flow of water remain on site. Much of the city remains in ruins 5 months after hurricane Katrina destroyed the levees, flooding the area.
