28 August 2006 - New Orleans - Louisiana. Lakeview. The national and international media swarm to the city to cover the one year anniversary. Some have set up their cameras near new construction by the Army Corps of Engineers at the head of the 17th Steet canal, close to where the levee breached, destroying the mostly white, affluent area of Lakeview. They claim the dam will help provide greater protection for the city in the event of another catastrophic hurricane.
