Great Salt LakeAntelope Island on the shores of the Great Salt Lake. Great Salt Lake is the largest lake west of the Mississippi River. 75 miles long, 28 miles wide covering 1,700 square miles. Salinity levels range from 4 to 28 percent. ocean averages 3 percent. Important migratory route for nesting birds, supporting over 250 species throughout the year. |

Mormon Temple and Convention CenterThe Mormon Temple of Salt Lake City. Conceived by Brigham Young. Construction started in 1853, completed 40 years later in 1893 when dedicated. Constructed of granite, most holy site in Mormon religion. Architect was Truman Angell. Temple closed to the public. |
