
The Mormon Temple of Salt Lake City. Conceived by Brigham Young.
Construction started in 1853, completed 40 years later in 1893 when dedicated.
Constructed of granite, most holy site in Mormon religion. Architect was Truman Angell.
Temple closed to the public, only open to Mormons. It is used today for
'Endowments,' marriages,' 'sealings,' and 'proxy baptisms of the dead.' Oct 2002.
