.A local TV photographer had managed to sneak underground at the cathedral where we waited patiently for hours to get this photograph. 450 years of history had come to an end as the Church of England ordained its first women priests amidst a storm of controversy. 'The women all look drunk' exclaimed my mother when she saw the photograph. In a way they were, drunk on emotion. The first women priests were ecstatic, totally high on emotion. a moment in history captured and published on March 13th, 1994. My first 'serious' front page, on a 'serious' newspaper.
